Design Your Website to Attract Clients — Right From the Start
Many coaches struggle to get online — spending months to years trying to all to work.
In 2009, I called 30 random coaches to see why they were failing. I found that 97% of their websites never brought in a new client.
I, too, had sub-par results in the early 2000s. Even though I was a web designer, was only getting a trickle of leads online. It wasn't sustainable.

You Should Have a Website That Generates Leads
When done right, you should feel confident about your website and eager to share it with everyone. Visitors get excited, engage with it, see the value you bring, and then contact you for coaching.
Ideally, they show up to the call pre-sold. If they are a good fit for you, then you invite them to work with you for pay. In time, your income grows, and you can enjoy the flexibility of when you work and where.
The Three Biggest Problems with Websites
There are a lot of reasons for failed websites. But these are the biggies:
- the design is confusing, so people get lost, then leave
- the content is boring, so people don't read it, and leave
- the "conversion strategy" is missing, so people don't act, just leave
YES, the tech must be fast, the visuals clean, and pages viewable on mobiles. BUT those are not enough. It's gotta engage, excite, and entice people.
The Two Keys to Getting Your Website to Work
FIRST, ensure the website "speaks the client's language" — meaning it's less about what coaching is and more about the client's situation. Relate to their situation, challenges, needs, and goals.
SECOND, organize the headings, sections, images, buttons, forms, links, and emails to "flow naturally" — so they get inspired, trust in you, and reach out for help.
And That's Why I Wrote This Book
To share stories of what worked, to provide a framework you can apply, and help you think strategically so your website brings new clients from the Web.

NEW FORMAT & FREE UPDATES
Giving you my best, often and fast.
Let's face it: technology changes rapidly. Updating it on Amazon has been a pain. Focusing on what I call a "live doc" PDF lets me update it during the year, instead of every few years. New editions will be sent to you automatically for FREE.
It's massive relief because it saves me time and delivers my best.
WHAT COACHES ARE SAYING
Chiara used it to get new clients ...
Your guide was extremely helpful and gave me a blueprint I could follow in structuring my own coaching website and content. The site is doing its job by attracting a regular stream of consultation requests and clients. Thanks for sharing your insights.
~ Chiara Pietrogiovanna, Life Coach
Gideon loved the step-by-step process
The guide is very nicely laid out in a step-by-step process for either assessing (if you have one) or creating (if you don’t have one yet) your coaching site. I also like the clearly explained steps of getting a client – from delivering good content, taking them to your site, adding more good value, and offering them coaching after emails.
~ Gideon Hanekom, Relationship Coach
Hannah is getting new clients
“I changed the text, got new photos taken, and wrote my free ebook in about four weeks. My website has already generated 13 new clients. The guide has been invaluable, and I’m really excited about the next phase of my business.”
~ Hannah Hempenstall, Life Coach
Gary appreciated the content writing chapters
Not everyone can write. Not everyone can hold an audience. Your Guide is very well written. I have the sitemap and hub model pages pinned on my wall. The way you built up the content writing section was done so nicely that even a novice can understand it.
~ Gary Henson, Business Coach.com
Lisa thought it was brilliant!
Web development can make even the brightest person’s brain feel like pudding. You lighten the heaviness with your approachable style and then feed lots of substance in “little bites” so readers don’t get overwhelmed.
~ Lisa Manyoky, Branding Strategist
EG found the giveaway and sign-up strategy priceless
Kenn, the section on the giveaway and sign-up box is absolutely priceless. If coaches followed that advice, they’d be well on their way to really understanding client attraction. PS – Thanks for helping the members at LinkedIn!
~ EG Sebastian, Client-Attraction Academy
